Renal Fibrosis and Membranous Glomerulonephritis

Renal fibrosis is a kind of pathological damage in the kidney, which shows a process how a kidney develops from a healthy one to a damaged one and even a deserted one. Due to many factors such as wound, infection, inflammation, blood circulation block, and immune and so on, the intrinsic cells will be damaged, which leads to renal sclerosis gradually, thus forming scar eventually. The renal fibrosis is characterized by the abnormal deposition of ECM.
Membranous nephropathy, which is short for MN, is a kind of renal glomerular nephritis. It is a medical term which is on the basis of renal biopsy. It can be primary one, and also can be a secondary one. It usually takes place after infection, systematic disease such as lupus nephritis, medical treatment, and cancer, etc. The characteristic of membranous nephropathy (MN) is that it recurs easily, and develops slowly. The manifestation of membranous nephropathy is nephrotic syndrome, the main symptom of which is the asymptomatic proteinuria in clinic.
What’s the relationship between renal fibrosis and membranous nephropathy? All kidney disease’s development is a renal fibrosis, and the same goes for membranous nephropathy. Generally, renal fibrosis can be divided into three periods.
The first period is inflammation stage. After kidney is damaged due to the kinds of reasons, inflammation will appear. In clinic, there is no symptom except the one in abnormal urine test. Due to the strong ability of compensation, the symptoms are hysteretic. As a matter of fact, the damage has taken place inside of the kidney. In this stage, if the treatment is timely and effective, the condition can reverse.
The second stage is renal fibrosis formation stage. In this stage, inflammation has damaged renal units and influenced renal function. If in this stage, patients receive treatment such as extending blood vessels, anticoagulation, anti-inflammation, degradation, and so on, patients can be far from dialysis. However, if patients miss the opportunity, they will come into uremia stage.
In the third stage, patients develop into uremia stage. In this stage, patients can not loose confidence, for as long as there is urine, it proves that there is blood flow in the kidney and we can let medicine come into kidney through blood flow.
