3. Keep a low-protein diet
High protein intake can not relieve proteinuria, but can aggravate the progression of the disease. Therefore, it is very essential to limit protein intake. From stage 1 Chronic Kidney Disease to stage 4, the protein intake should be restricted to 0.6~0.75g/kg per body weight.
4. Keep a low-fat diet
In many cases, the patients with IgA Nephropathy (Berger’s Disease) are accompanied by high cholesterol, which may cause hyperlipidaemia. If the lipid level is too high, the patients are at risk of developing heart disease and other vascular diseases.
