How to Treat Lupus Nephritis with Immunotherapy

How to Treat Lupus Nephritis with Immunotherapy
To know how to treat lupus nephritis, we should firstly figure out the pathological mechanism of lupus nephritis. The main cause of this disease is that when the body is infected by lupus cells, abnormal immune response exists continuously and pathogenic autoantibody is produced, as a result, large amount of immune complex, such as C3, IgG, IgM, etc. was generated in the blood, which deposit at the glomerular epithelial cells, thus damaging the normal function of the glomerular epithelial cells. In this case, proteins and red blood cells will leak out through the pores of the basilar membrane, thus causing protein in urine or hematuria in clinic.
It is an autoimmune disease. The regular medications are hormones and immunosuppressive agents, which can indeed diminish the leaking out of protein and red blood cells. However, after infection, protein in urine or blood urine will come into being again. To treat lupus nephritis, the therapy should be based on how it comes into being.
Immunotherapy is created in Eastern Greenland Hospital, which is a combination of Chinese medicine and western medicine can be divided into 6 steps, immune diagnosis, immune clearance, immune blocking, immune tolerance, immune regulation and immune protection.
  1. immune diagnosis
After a systematic diagnosis, we can figure out where the immune complex deposits exactly, the amount of immune complex so that doctors can get more scientific diagnosis and arrange better treatment. Without it, we can not know the dosage of medicine. Less dosage can not achieve the treatment effect while too much can also cause damage to the kidney.
  2. immune clearance
In immune clearance step, patients with lupus nephritis should clear away the immune complex in the blood, which can supply a cleaner inner environment for the treatment of kidney disease. For patients with SLE, the most proper blood purification method is the plasma exchange. Pay attention that the immune complex we clean is the one in the blood not the one on the kidney.
  3. immune blocking
There is still immune complex which deposits onto kidney, which leads to immune response and damage to the kidney cells and tissues. Medicine is used, which can stop the excessive immune response, thus stopping the inflammation response at a rapid speed.
  4.immuen tolerance
The fourth one is immune tolerance. After immune blocking, the immune response can be stopped. And the damage to the kidney can be blocked. However, the immune complex still deposit onto the kidney, which leads to a new series of immune response.
  5. immune regulation
The fifth one is immune adjustment. In this step, Chinese medicines are applied, which can improve the blood circulation, including micro-blood circulation and dissolve the blood stasis. In this case, the immune complex can be discharged out, and the immune system can be repaired. Note that in this step, the immune complex we clean is the one on the kidney not the one in the blood. Blood purification such as dialysis and plasma exchange can not achieve this. In Eastern Greenland Hospital, we use Chinese Medicine. It can also repair the damaged renal glomerular epithelial cells for it contains herbs and nutritious materials.
  6. immune protection

Last but not least, immune protection is applied, in which step, we use medicine which can nourish qi and blood to rebuild the intrinsic immune system. In addition, biochemical cell therapy is also used in clinic such as the transplant of stem cell, which can also help enhance the immunity of lupus nephritis patients. In this way, patients themselves can clear away the immune complex in the blood and kidney, thus treating lupus nephritis from root.

The Best Treatment of FSGS in 2015

The Best Treatment of FSGS in 2015
FSGS is short for Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS),which is a cause of nephrotic syndrome in children and adolescents, as well as an important cause of kidney failure in adults. In FSGS stage, the kidney disorder is relatively serious compared with the minimal change and so on for there are damaged and even sclerotic cells in the kidney. Symptoms such as proteinuria, hematuria, high blood pressure(hypertension)will appear. The GFR (glomerular filtration rate) decreases, which indicates that there is less blood flow in the kidney. So FSGS patients are in a critical stage.
Traditional treatments for FSGS are such as
  1. Aldosterone antagonist to decrease proteinuria and thus offer a degree of reno-protection
  2. Angiotensin II receptor antagonist
  3. ACE inhibitor
  4. Corticosteroids, such as prednisone – based on the clinical judgment of physician
  5. Cytotoxics, such as cyclophosphamide may be used to induce remission in patients presenting with FSGS refractory to corticosteroids, or in patients who do not tolerate steroids.
However, as we all know, all of the above mentioned therapies have side effect as well as can only diminish the symptoms.
Considering the side effects they cause, FSGS patients are seeking for the best treatment. Chinese Medicine and stem cell therapy can treat it, which can also stop recurrence and has no side effects.
Chinese Medicine can promote blood circulation, extend all levels of arteries, improve the micro-circulation as follows:
  1. Extend renal arteries and digestive arteries, improve micro-circulation, increase the effective blood perfusion volume of the whole body.
  2. Improve the partial barrier of microcirculation, increase the supply of oxygen and strengthen the metabolism.
  3. Relieve the disorder of inner environment which is caused by the insufficiency of oxygen.
  4. Relieve the symptoms which are caused by toxic. Discharge immune complex. In addition, the active materials in Micro-Chinese Medicine can activate a series of degradative enzyme, degrade the matrix and immune complex, thus blocking the chain which can deteriorate the fibrosis. Lastly, the herbs in it can repair the damaged cells in the kidney.
  How stem cell takes effect?

As we mentioned in the above, there are sclerotic cells in the kidney. Stem Cell is the latest and effective treatment for FSGS. Stem cells are initial cells with strong self-renewing and multi-differentiation abilities. They are infused into human body through intravenous injection, and then stem cells will transfer into the kidney lesions by auto-homing function. They can adjust the immune disorder by repairing the damaged glomeruli and by generating into new renal intrinsic cells to replace the scarred ones. The combination of stem cell and Chinese Medicine can make a perfect treatment for FSGS.

Blood Sugar in Our Body and Diabetes

Blood sugar mainly refers to the blood glucose in the body. For normal persons, the level of blood sugar is steady. After meal, the level of blood sugar will be a little higher, which will not be higher than 180mg/dl. The FBG( fasting blood sugar) is steady relatively, which is 70-110mg/dl(3.9-6.1mmol/L). All the energy the body needs comes from glucose. So the blood sugar must be enough so that it can meet the need of the body.
The normal range of FBG is 80 to 120 mg%. If it is more than 130, people will suffer high blood sugar. If it is less than 70, people will suffer from low blood glucose. Long time hunger, continuous strenuous work, etc can lead to low blood sugar. At this time, brain tissue will firstly realize it and then people will have dizziness, heart beating faster, hunger and so on.
Sugar is really a necessity which can be gained from grains, fruit and vegetables. After digestion, the sugar will be transformed into monose, and so on and then into blood. It is the source of energy. If it can not be exhausted, it will store in the liver or muscles. If it is too much, sugar will become fat.

For diabetes patients, high blood sugar is the main symptom, which is caused by the insufficiency of insulin secretion. If low blood sugar takes place, it may even threaten diabetics’ life. So controlling blood sugar is very important.

Diet or Food Principles for Kidney Disease Patients

Diet or Food Principles for Kidney Disease Patients
Diet or food can be regarded as the natural treatment of chronic kidney disease patients.
  1. Water intake
To decrease all those risk factors, fluid intake is advised to be 500-700 ml more than urine output the day before. For instance, if urine output is 500 the last day, water intake should be within 1000-1200ml in the following day.
  2.Salt intake
Excess salt intake can aggravate edema and high blood pressure in kidney disease, especially kidney failure. Generally, salt intake should be less than 3g per day. But for those with severe swelling and obviously reduced urine output, sodium intake should be limited more strictly.
  3.Restrict high potassium foods
  (1) High potassium vegetables: celeries, spinach, mushroom, seaweed, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, celeries, rape, parsley.
  (2) High potassium fruits: bananas, dates, oranges, grapefruits, dates, persimmons, mango, cantaloupe and carambola.
